2008 saw a new installation in the Rambo series. This latest version findsin Thailand providing a boat service to locals.
A chrstian aid group employs Rambo to take them up river and drop them off at a village in need of medical assistance. The village is attacked by a local military unit & the aid workers are taken hostage.
Rambo and a group of mercinaries come to the rescue!
After seeing the last Rambo when he battled the evil Russians I wasn’t expecting much. But in all honesty, this one turned out to be pretty cool…
The writing is your average Rambo action flick with the appropriate amount of one-liners. The payoff is in the action as Rambo has to save the aid workers and the mercenaries!
And there’s plenty of action! One of the things that I liked about this movie was that the look of it is raw and gritty which really accents the intensity. It’s also bloody, more than I expected in fact. They weren’t interested in trying to cater to the watered down taste of the masses on this one.
writes, directs and plays Rambo. If you’re a fan of action movies, this is worth checking out.
