Zack and Miri Make a Porno

Friends since elementary school, Zack and Miri live together as friends/roomates. They find themselves falling on hard times financially to the point where they lose their water and electricity during a very cold winter. In response to their money woes, they decide to take a chance by making a porno and cashing in. Along the way, they discover they have stronger feelings for each other than they both realized…

Kevin Smith wrote and directed this fun, tongue in cheek (so-to-speak) rom-com that has some tender moments along with some of signature out of field gross-outs we’ve come to expect from Kevin Smith. All in all, I enjoyed the warm sentimentality of the film as well as laughed out loud at different points throughout.

The cast is part of what make the film really enjoyable with some strong and funny moments from Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. Craig Robinson, Jason Mewes, and Justin Long are all hysterical. There’s even some veterans from the porn industry including Traci Lords and Katie Morgan.

Smith does a great job both directing and writing. It seems like this fun was a lot of fun to make which is my favorite type of film from him. He has some hit or miss films here and there but this is one of his better pieces.

I would definitely recommend seeing this one with friends or a special someone.
